MEET TOMMASO

MEET TOMMASO

Q: Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do? And do you enjoy it?

A: Tommaso Abbattiscianni. I grew up in Wayne New Jersey and I am an online health & fitness coach. I am at a point in my life where I can actually say I enjoy what I do. Every up and down, every struggle that comes my way, I wouldn’t live my life any other way.

Q: Where do you go for inspiration?

A: My main source of inspiration comes from looking at how far I’ve come over the past 10 years of my life. The accomplishments, the growth I’ve had in all aspects of life. Mentally; physically & spiritually. If I’m looking externally for motivation I’ll look at individuals who have accomplished greatness in the way I envision myself accomplishing greatness.

Q: What made you want to start your own company?

A: This is a funny question because growing up, I would always hear that starting your own business is a lot of work, and it’s very hard. Well, now I can see that. Any job or anything worth working for is hard and challenging. In my eyes that is the beauty of it. Starting my own business has always been something on my mind since I was a teenager because I never liked the idea of working for someone else. The rules and system that’s setup for employees aren’t the way I’d want to live the rest of my life. Of course not all jobs are the same and I’m sure there are other jobs where I can have an enjoyable life, but I always wanted to be the face of something beautiful because I believe I have the tools to do so.

Q: What do you feel you can bring that others cannot? What separates you from everyone else?

A: I believe everyone has a unique personal trait that can translate to helping millions of people. I believe mine would be to service others by showing all humans that you aren’t a victim of your circumstances. You can always mold and shape your own life. Whether it’s your attitude; finances, or creating a better internal headspace for yourself.

Q: In your life what struggles have you faced? Did you overcome them?

A: Being someone that has dreams & visions for myself only “delusional” people can have , I struggled with a ton of backlash my entire life for wanting to follow my own path. I was always an outcast when it came to my ideas or any insight I may have. Getting my point across and communicating with people was a long time struggle of mine that I continue to overcome daily.

Q: What is your main goal for yourself and the company?

A: For myself, my goals will never end. But to consider myself successful is to be able to provide a life for my future wife & kids that they could never even have imagined. A life filled with love, and a life never having to worry about finances. The goal for BusyBodies is to create a global community that inspires and supports dedicated, hardworking professionals. Coming from a first responder background, I'm used to working 12 hour shifts back to back, 5-6 days a week. Nothing stops me from getting work done to achieve my goals, whether it’s fitness or in business. The relentless work ethic is the foundation of BusyBodies – a brand committed to embodying this unwavering determination. The individuals that join the BusyBodies community are characterized by their strong work ethic, drive, absence of excuses, and a hunger for success.

Q: Do you believe trauma can be used as inspiration or motivation? If so, why?

A: Trauma either makes you or breaks you. When trauma makes you, you almost become unstoppable on your way to the top. On the other hand, when trauma breaks you, you will crash lower than low. A majority of people don’t even make it out of the hole and it’s very sad to see. Like I said previously, I firmly believe you are NOT a product of your life circumstances. Just because something happened to you in the past doesn't mean you won’t be able to heal from it. You have to WANT to heal. I just wish more people viewed trauma this way.

Q: Do you believe you have experienced a “Just say no” moment in your life? What was the hardest “NO” you had to give?

A: This question resonates with me really well. In 2023 the main lesson I learned about myself was my inability to say “NO”. Throughout the year there were many different circumstances where I should have put my foot down and respected my boundaries and I didn’t. Throughout these experiences I quickly realized that I need to watch out for myself because if I can’t watch out for myself, or respect my own personal boundaries nobody else will.

Q: What future plans do you have for yourself?

A: Wow, such a heavy question! Some future plans for myself is to be able to communicate and help individuals across the globe sharing my insights on health, fitness & mindset, and also my own personal experiences. Another goal is to become a better communicator & eventually speak on stage in front of thousands of people.. (first I have to get people to like me) and of course, grow BusyBodies to unimaginable heights.

Q: Describe yourself in three words

A: Genuine, Authentic, Diligent

Q: How do you approach your lifestyle in terms of nutrition and training?

A: My approach to nutrition and training is pretty simple and boring. Nothing fancy, no fad diet or anything new that people want to hear. For my nutrition it’s simple, limit or cut out processed foods. Increase your protein intake because a majority of people are under eating their macronutrient requirements.

I do want to note that I struggled with binge eating my whole life. When I figured out the root cause of my binge eating, it became easier to manage, thankfully. My weakness is sweets, I can eat a whole plate of cookies in one sitting… (yes I’ll feel guilty, it’s normal) Don’t beat yourself up! If this happens often, then I suggest you or whoever is reading this needs to switch up their lifestyle because that isn’t healthy long term. This is how I approach my life nowadays when I’m not competing in bodybuilding because that's a whole other animal. I firmly believe in the 80-20 rule. 80% of the week is clean eating and 20% of the week comes from my vice foods such as burgers, cookies, and pancakes. I like to treat myself usually twice a week, usually after an intense training session or a family dinner.

When it comes to training, I am big on training hard, and resting harder. 5x a week of intense training is usually more than enough for 99% of people. Getting rest 2x a week is essential for achieving your fitness goals. The body burns fat and builds muscle when you’re sleeping! In today's world we can get so caught up on staying up late from work or brainless activities like Netflix and chilling that our body and brain aren’t able to get the rest it needs. So don’t neglect sleep!

Q: What would you tell someone that wants to become healthier but doesn’t know where to start?

A: First, I would tell them to visit beachbodybuilt.com to check out my coaching services. I lay out the entire process on my website, how I work and what to expect. In all seriousness though, my advice to anyone looking to transform their lifestyle is to seek guidance from an experienced professional that knows about nutrition and exercise. There’s so much misinformation on the internet and social media that it can be very overwhelming trying to find the right information.

Here’s some tips to look for when looking for a health and fitness coach:

-Does this person have experience?

-Does this person have honorable client transformations?

-Does this person believe his way is the best way and that there’s no other way? (If so, stay away from this person)

-Is this person confident in their abilities?

-Is this person going to provide me with 1on1 individualized coaching and not some cookie cutter meal plan?

If you don’t have the funds, I’d start with strength and resistance training 3x a week to begin, and cut out processed foods. Start watching YouTube videos and self educate!
